Preshcool Readiness for two to three year olds. This is group of younger children getting ready for preschool.
Our daily schedule looks like this:
9:30-10:00 is free play/socializing in both our small motor skills room and our large motor skills room. At 10:00 we do art at the community table then we move onto the reading circle. At 11:00 is snack time and then we go outside and play in our very child friendly back yard. At 11:45 we clean up and get ready to go home. The younder, preschool readiness group, learns to use a cubby, put on shoes and jackets, use the toilet and potty train, with potty check every half hour, when needed. To Our Families of the 3 to 5 year olds,
We are off to a fun start. So far we have discovered the letter D, used math manipulative to count out numbers, established our helper jobs, and talked about friendship and fall, as well as other activities. The class is really starting to meld together and establish relationships.
This month we are going to be learning about fire safety and emergency, think more about fall, structure of books and making our own book. I will be setting up a grocery store at the end of the month and we will investigate the different jobs in the store.
Our first fieldtrip for the year. We will be going to the greenwood library on the city bus. The Seattle Fire Department will be holding a story time, read by firefighters. They will see the fire trucks up close and all the equipment. The firefighters will be having small lessons on fire safety. Please be sure to dress your child for the weather on that day. We will need at least one parent volunteer for this trip so if you would like to join us please let us know. Field trip forms will be coming home on Friday.
We are starting a formal show and tell day for each of the kids to bring in something special or tell us about something they are excited about. Please help your child to prepare for their day with either an item or a reminder of something you did over the weekend or the day before. We will do sharing at closing circle time. Friday they will get their assigned day and we will start it on Monday.

Starting up the fall fun schedule of activities with Teacher Amie and Teacher Maurice, Monday, Sept. 10th at 9:00 with a classroom full of eager preschoolers. Teacher Trish and Teacher Maurice will start with a new group of preschool readiness students starting Sept. 11th at 9:30.

Classes will be starting the week of September 10th.
Teacher Amie and Teacher Maurice will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 to 12:00 and Teacher Trish and Teacher Maurice will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 12:00. We are excited to be returning to a full schedule of fun activites starting September 10th with Teacher Amie and September 11th with Teacher Trish. Last year was such a huge success that this year many of our students are returning for another year with Teacher Amie and Teacher Maurice.
Right now, the classes for the 3-5 year olds is full, but we have started a wait list. Cost is $265.00 a month, three days a week from 9:00 to 12:00 wth Teacher Amie and Teacher Maurice. Please e-mail marketstreetpreschool@hotmail.com if you are interested in being on the wait list for fall.
There is still space available in the younger group beginning with kids 2.5 to 3. This class is with Teacher Trish and Teacher Maurice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 12:00. The cost is $150.00 per month. If interested in coming in for a tour please e-mail mareketstreetpreschool@hotmail.com to set up a time to tour. Looking for a few more ready to learn faces for a fun morning of activities which include, play, play, play, story time, more play, a trip to the park, snack and more play, with a bit of fun thrown in. This age group really focuses on socializing and getting to know other kids in a group setting.
